Summer of 1982:
On a holiday trip through the Northwest of France I found several yards with old cars rotting slowly away.
Many of these were unknown for me 20 years ago, because those types were not common in Germany even when new.
My first intention was only to have pictures of these rare types of cars, but soon I was impressed by the fascinating atmosphere of the rusty bodies hidden by nature.
In Germany those yards disappeared more and more, in other countries they stayed some years longer.
Nowadays best place for "Tin Hunting" is the Internet!
Here are some of my first junkyard pictures. All in b/w that time and the quality sometimes is poor.
